Our
Story
Like the terebinth (oak) tree that grows stronger over time, Terebinth Ministries began in 2013 in response to God’s call to care for His sent ones.
Our desire is simple: to create spaces where God’s children can get together for a time of refreshment, strengthening, uplifting fellowship, and growing together as the Body of Christ. We do this specifically through the hosting of a variety of retreats.
Whether from different parts of Japan or elsewhere in the world, we invite sons and daughters of God to join us for a time of rest in God’s presence where He can restore, renew, and prepare us for the journey ahead.
The person behind
Terebinth
Christina du Toit
In 2019, at the age of 50, God called Christina to exchange her career in the marketplace in South Africa for serving as a full time missionary in Japan.
God calls Christina ‘Stirrer of life’, hence her passion for serving in Japan through stirring life and growth, and encouraging God’s children as they walk with Him and live out the respective callings that God had placed on their lives.
Amongst other things, Christina is passionate about seeing Eph 4:13-16 being fulfilled. I.e. the body of Christ maturing up to the full standard of Christ; as each part does its own special work, helping the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
She loves walking alongside those who are hungry to grow spiritually, whether through discipling or mentoring one on one, online group meetings or the hosting of retreats.
Strengthening the sent ones so that, in their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for His own glory.
